Just got a email from the Wire Service. Sprint Cup Series Qualifying and the Nationwide Series Race have been canceled due to rain. Not sure if they have announced it on MRN or ESPN2 yet.
A story will be up in a bit at fzsports.net from the NASCAR Wire Service for those interested.
Haven't heard about a reschedule for the Nwide event. But unless the Sprint Cup race gets rained out it will probably be sometime Sunday afternoon.

Any other time they get rain during the scheduled time, they don't qualify at all. If they change it for anybody, even Joey, that would be wrong.

hum...people are worried about a driver qualifying when a tropical storm is in the area. article i read is that richmond shut down for safety of track workers, fans, crews and drivers. i hope the people camping, especially in the non-motorcoach type campers, will be safe.
i was at richmond when hugo went through and that place was a mess. fire department came in and had to pump out all the water from the track and infield. generators were brought in as there was no power.
so i'd be more concerned about people being ok, rather than qualifying. it's been speculated all week that this weekend at richmond would have weather issues. atleast na$car did the right thing and shut things down now instead of doing what they usually do and wait.
