no more vlp

I was very upset to find vlp closed. I made some really dood friends I would like to keep in touch with . VLP should have warned us so we could save our contacts.

I didn't see that coming, no real warnings that they we going to be shutting down the site. That's a shame. I had fun on there.

Re: no more vlp

I got an email from a poker buddy via the site after it closed. Go to the site, see the message that is posted there but then go to the chat area/buddy area and see if you can't send them an email. A friend emailed me, like I said, after it shut down today, so that tells me she was able to go there and do that. (She didn't have my email address and it arrived via vlp buddy email)

If it don't make money, then it won't last around here. it's all about the money. VLP wasn't making what they thought it would.

Sign of the times..The economy is going down, as are all the fun little extras people used to afford! Even the boys with deep pockets..

Re: no more vlp

You have to remember that there were people other than the drivers probably involved with the funding of the thing as well. I'm hoping that maybe they can get more sponsors in the future and maybe we'll just have to live with more ads or something on the site. I could live with having to watch a 30 second commercial every 1/2 hour or something if it meant getting to continue to play. The people that probably approached Jr. et als probably found themselves to be losing money on the venture. Not to mention the technology problems--the site probably outgrew it's infrastructure and was not making the money to improve the functionality of the site-- I know that I never had a night where I didn't get kicked out 4, 5, even 6 times if I was in a large tourney.
